ESPN and USA Today Sports reported that Manning told the Broncos he is physically and mentally prepared to play the 2015 season. He has been mulling his future since the Broncos were bounced from the playoffs by the Indianapolis Colts. Elway told Manning he wanted him back and asked the quarterback not to make a rash decision. Fairley in the clear Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley was found not guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol, almost three years after he was arrested for driving more than 100 mph down an Alabama highway with an open container of alcohol in his SUV.

The NFL suspended Rice for two games after he pleaded not guilty to third-degree charge of aggravated assault. He received no jail time after applying for a pretrial intervention program. In September, TMZ published another video showing Rice striking Palmer inside the elevator, prompting outrage and calls for the NFL to increase Rices punishment. Previously, the only public video of the incident was footage of Rice dragging Palmer out of the elevator.
